When I didn't know my mascara from my liner, I used to laugh at my older girl friends when they used to store their lipsticks in the fridge. Now that I'm wiser I know all the benefits of storing them there. Pretty things deserve pretty storage and what better place to keep your perishable makeup and skincare than in a refrigerator specially created for this purpose?
Bottom line, it makes the cosmetics last longer, it will also work for extending perfume and colognes lifespan. So, Korean company IDOCI has gone a step further in managing our vanity by announcing dedicated cosmetic fridges to store all our lipsticks and gels. The fridge allows you to store all your cosmetics at the ideal 8 - 12 degree Celsius range. Besides maintaining the ideal temperature you can even keep a track of the expiry dates of your items, given that most cosmetics last for around two years from their date of manufacture.
As pretty as your stuff, this fridge looks very chic. The appliance also features movable shelves, noise reduction features, and an interior light. The elaborate control system on the front allows you to set up a calendar, timers, and control the temperature. Some of IDOCI’s marketing material seems to indicate they are targeting both sexes.
It comes in a variety of colors to match your style, color preference and/or room décor. There’s even one for the men…or the minimalist in you. The cosmetics fridge is available in just about any color your little heart desires; pink, blue, purple, silver, green, red, black…
In most places that is not a good enough reason for purchasing a special fridge, however, cosmetics is a huge industry in Korea, linking a product to a person's appearance, for example adding a mirror to a cellphone is a tried and true marketing formula for the country. As mentioned above, they are not just courting the fairer half of the population.
It can be wall-mounted and has the optimum temperature range of 8-12°C for ideal beauty product storage. The tech geek beauty lover will appreciate the fact that it has fiddly electronic controls to play with, as well!
