Video games within which users impersonate singers or rock stars have become extremely popular over that past couple of years, and the same phenomenon has influenced the peripherals developed especially for them. For this reason, the Logitech company launched back in October 2007 its Wireless Microphone, a peripheral that could really come in handy when battling it out against other bands or wannabe singers.
The first important detail worth mentioning about the Wireless Microphone is its design. The wireless device actually has a very authentic, professional design, which helps improve the feeling of realism during gameplay.
As the name says it, the microphone is fully wireless, as it uses 2.4 GHz radio technology. It can also be set up very easily, by simply plugging the USB dongle into the console of choice, and offers a fairly OK functioning range, of around 30 feet (10 meters). Plus, the battery life is also quite an OK one, namely more than 20 hours for just 2 AA batteries, with the first set being delivered right out of the box.
Last, but certainly not least, it's important to mention that the gaming peripheral from Logitech works equally well with three of the most important video game platforms around, namely PS3, PS2 and the Xbox 360. Moreover, it works with a fairly wide range of titles, including here Boogie by Electronic Arts, Rock Band by MTV Games, High School Musical Sing It! by Disney and Karaoke Revolution Presents: American Idol Encore by Konami, just to name a few.
The Logitech Wireless Microphone sells for around 80 US dollars, which might seem like a pretty high price point at first, but it's actually pretty fair, given the contents of the sales package: USB receiver and stand, 2 AA batteries, Quick-start guide and 1-year limited hardware warranty. |
