Over time, the Saitek company has launched quite a large number of gaming accessory, some of them so advanced that they're still very popular several years after their initial release. And that's also the case with the company's Cyborg evo Force Feedback Joystick, launched back in 2004, but which still manages to hold its own against more modern devices, due to the multitude advanced features and customization possibilities it provides.

The Cyborg evo Force features Immersion’s Touchsense force feedback technology, allowing users to feel every motion occurring in the supported games. As expected, the peripheral has been equipped with a wide range of buttons, designed to map onto just about any type of control system and allow fast and easy access to as many functions as possible. Thus, the joystick sports a rapid-fire trigger, 5 fire buttons, 8-way ‘point-of-view’ hat switch, 3D twist for rudder control, 2 shift buttons and 4 base buttons.

Pretty much in the same way as most other modern product from Saitek, the Cyborg evo Force Feedback Joystick supports advanced programming provided by Saitek Smart Technology (SST) software, allowing users to personalize their gaming peripheral. Moreover, the joystick features customizable head and stick, which enables left- and right-handers to find their optimum gaming position.

It's also interesting to mention that the device sports a single spring gimbal mechanism, as well as a 3 position handle adjustment to suit all hand sizes. Moreover, the Cyborg joystick uses single spring action in the case of all non-Force Feedback games.

The device connects to any computer via an USB 2.0 interface and supports Windows XP and Vista operating systems. However, in order to be able to full advantage of its features under Vista, users will probably have to download some recent drivers and modified software from the company's website.

Despite being quite an old model, the Cyborg evo Force Feedback Joystick can still be purchased for around 66 US dollars, slightly above the average price for this type of devices.

If you want to waste your money -- buy this stick. And you'll have a good hardware without any software for it. Because the FTP site you're supposed to download it from is dead, and support from Saitek is non-existant.
