Gamepads were initially associated with video gaming consoles, but during the past few years they've proved to be quite popular with people who play games on their PCs as well. For this reason, Saitek launched back in the second half of 2007 the Cyborg Rumble Pad, a gaming accessory that introduces a few very interesting and useful innovations, which will certainly make things a bit easier for just about any gamer.
One of the most interesting new features provided by the gamepad from Saitek is related to the position of the left analogue stick. Since some gamers prefer the left stick to be level with the right stick, whereas others prefer it offset to the top left corner of the pad, the company has equipped the peripheral with what they call a Cyborg module. This module allows users to remove the Cyborg module from the pad and turn it at 180 degrees, thus modifying the configuration of the left stick and d-pad, all by simply pressing a button.
Another very useful control options is the FPS button. When users push this button, the pad is instantly programmed with the keyboard and mouse commands typically used in first-person shooter gamers, meaning that users themselves won't be forced to carry out any additional programming tasks.
Beside the FPS button mentioned above, the gamepad from Saitek is also equipped with 2 quick-fire shoulder buttons, 2 analogue triggers, 8-way d-pad, 6 responsive buttons and 2 analog joysticks. It's also interesting to note that any of the buttons can be easily programmed to become a Precision button, thus granting the device a very high level of versatility.
And speaking of versatility, we'll also point out the fact that the Cyborg Rumble Pad features an X-Mode, which adjust its settings in order to be perfectly compatible with those games that have been originally designed for the Xbox 360 and then ported onto PCs.
The Cyborg Rumble Pad is actually a pretty affordable product, given the functions and features it provides, since it can be purchased for around 46 US dollars from various online retailers. |
