Although the days when a joystick was a must have accessory for any serious gamers are long gone, there are quite a few people who still purchase such peripherals, but we're talking here only about the die-hard fans of various simulators (other than car simulators, that is). And especially for this category of users the Thrustmaster company has developed the T.Flight Stick X, launched back in early 2008, a device which supports multiple configurations and is compatible with some of the hottest simulators released on the market lately.
The T.Flight Stick X is an extremely precise joystick with adjustable resistance control, whose base has been fitted with additional weights, for an enhanced level of stability. The device also sports an ergonomic throttle lever, a wide hand rest for perfect comfort, as well as a rotating handle with built-in locking system.
As mentioned earlier, the gaming peripheral supports 2 standard configurations. The first is designed especially to be compatible with PC games (as for example Flight Simulator X from Microsoft), while the second configuration is PlayStation 3 compliant (Blazing Angels by Ubisoft is guaranteed to work with this configuration).
Another important selling point of the T.Flight Stick X is its extended level of versatility. The joystick features 12 buttons and 4 axes, all of which are completely programmable, the mapping button allowing users to rapidly transfer functions from one button to another. Moreover, the device even sports an internal memory chip, which is used for storing all the programmed configurations, even when the joystick is disconnected from the PC or PS3.
Despite being quite an advanced gaming peripheral, the T.Flight Stick X from Thrustmaster is actually a pretty affordable product, selling for an estimate 23 – 30 US dollars, which is a very fair price point, given the device's extended level of versatility. |
