Right now, one can find just about any type of content on the Internet, either legally or illegally. Whether we're talking about music, movies, games, books, etc., it's all there, if one knows how to find it. However, given the more or less illicit nature of the sharing activity, most movies and videos available on the Internet are saved in some rather unusual formats, with very high compressions rates, in order to take less space. Quite often, the respective formats don't really work with normal, standalone DVD players, and for this reason the Spanish company Blusens launched back in the second half of 2008 the Blu:Brain Home Entertainment Device (HED), a device which offers a very high level of versatility, since it works pretty much with every Internet format one might think of AND it can also go online. The Blu:Brain is a connected media center, meaning that it can access the Internet either via a wired (Ethernet) or a wireless (WiFi) connection. Actually, this feature is extremely important, since it enables users to stream Internet TV stations right to their HDTV sets. Plus, it also comes packed with a DVB-T tuner, which makes it quite future-proof, at least as far as the signal reception methods are concerned. As above, one of the device's main selling point is represented by its extended level of versatility and file compatibility. The Blu:Brain works with multiple image, audio and high definition video formats, such as MPEG-4(XviD), H.264, MPEG-2, MKV, etc. Plus, the files (some of which are notoriously big) can be stored onto a removable internal hard disc, whose actual size depends on the user's decision and budget. In other words, users can purchase separately their HDD of choice and install it within the Blu:Brain, in a very fast and easy manner. Beside the connectivity options mentioned above, the device has also been equipped with sports other interfaces, such as 2 HDMI outputs (for connecting to high-definition TV sets or HD signal sources), 2 USB host ports (for playing back or copying files from flash drives), as well as a SD card reader.
