Over the past couple of years, the people over at Hitachi have released quite an impressive number of audio/video peripherals, including here quite a serious line-up of projectors, targeting several specific market segments. The Japanese company's CP-SX1350 model, released way back in June 2005, is an installation projector that provides a large number of interesting features at quite an acceptable price tag.
Thus, the CP-SX1350 has been equipped with three 0.99-inch P-Si TFT panels with Micro Lens technology, which allow the device to generate images with resolutions of up to 1400 x 1050 pixels and diagonal sizes of up to 500 inches. Unfortunately, the contrast ratio is not exactly great (just 650:1), but the device does provide a gppd light output, namely 3500 ANSI lumens, attained with the help of the 310W UHB lamp, which boasts an overall functioning life of around 2000 hours.
It's also important to note the fact that the device's standard lens (F=1.7~2.4, f=31~46mm) provides a throw distance ratio of 1.5~2.2:1, a zoom ratio of x 1.5, as well as 16.7 million colors and a color depth of 8 bit/color.
The CP-SX1350 offers a rather normal set of connectivity interfaces, namely 15-pin Mini D-sub, BNC (x5) (shared with component), M1-D (HDCP Decoding for digital video signal), S-Video, various RCA and stereo mini jacks, an USB connector (M1-D terminal), as well as an RJ-45 interface for connecting to a network.
The projector is compatible with a wide array of resolutions, including here VGA, SVGA, XGA, SXGA, UXGA, MAC 16-inch (for PCs), as well as SDTV: 525i (480i), 525p (480p), 625i (576i) and HDTV: 750p (720p@60Hz), 1125i (1080i@50/60Hz) video resolutions. Furthermore, it works with the most common video systems around, namely NTSC, PAL (-BGDHI), SECAM, PAL-M, PAL-N, NTSC4.43, PAL 60.
The device also provides quite a large number of extra features and functions, as for example power, lamp and temperature indicator light, input indicator light, ceiling mount image, rear projection image, easy/advanced OSD menu (17 Languages), power zoom, power focus, power lens shift, lens shift lock, remote control, HDCP decoding for digital video signals, my memory (4 settings), optional lens auto detection, component/SCART, RGB selection on BNC port.
Hitachi's CP-SX1350 projector can be purchased for around 6,000 US dollars, which is not exactly a very high price to pay, taking into account the features and specs this thing can provide. |
