Alarm clocks with built-in iPod docking connectors are not exactly novelty items nowadays, when a very large number of manufacturers (more or less well-known) are coming up with various products of this type. Even the most important names in the industry have gone down the “iPod” path, and one very good example comes from Logitech, who has launched back in September 2008 its Pure-Fi Anytime model, which offers both a recharging base / audio system for the iPod, as well as some pretty interesting alarm clock features. Probably the most notable feature of the Pure-Fi Anytime (beside the iPod connector, of course), is the fact that it comes packed with a built-in motion sensor. Thus, by simply waving their hands over the motion-activated, backlit controls, users can choose from one of the three available brightness settings (bright light, low light or no light). Moreover, the motion sensor can really come in handy in the morning. Users can wake up to the sound of the music stored onto their iPod, the radio (since this thing also incorporates an AM/FM tuner), or the buzzer, but they can also activate the snooze function by simply waving their hand(s) over the sensor. For easier control, the Pure-Fi Anytime has been fitted with a high-contrast, easy-to-read display, which has been optimized to be clearly visible during the day, but not too bright at night. Additionally, the iPod/iPhone dock has a recessed profile, the protected docking cavity helping to prevent users from accidentally knocking over their iPod/iPhone. The Pure-Fi Anytime sells for around 100 US dollars, a price point at which users will also get an AC adapter, advanced wireless remote, detachable AM antenna, universal dock adapters, Quick-start guide and User's Manual. |
