Since the world we live in is moving and an increasingly faster pace, the need for devices that can be carried around relatively easy, but, in the same time, deliver a very high level of functionality has also become a lot more dire. And this is why the people over at Sanyo have launched back in the second half of 2007 the PDG-DWT50L, a device that allows users to enjoy HD images in just about any location.
The projector, which is based on 0.65-inch Single DLP chip technology, can display images with sizes ranging from 40 to 500 inches (dependent on lens) at resolutions of up to 1280 x 768 pixels (WXGA). Furthermore, it provides a 2100:1 contrast ratio, a 15:9 aspect ratio, while the BrilliantColor technology and six-segment color wheel, as well as the DynamicBlack system, add a plus of quality to the respective images.
The device also incorporates a dual lamp system, namely two 260W UHP lamps, which work together in order to generate a typical brightness level of around 4500 ANSI lumens. Moreover, the projector supports a wide array of video signals (PAL/PAL-M/PAL-N/SECAM/NTSC4.43/NTSC) and PC signals (UXGA, SXGA+,SXGA, WXGA, XGA, SVGA, VGA, MAC), and comes packed with its own speakers (two-piece stereo 3W).
One of the most important selling points of the PDG-DWT50L is related to the huge number of connectivity options it provides. Thus, the projector has been equipped with no less than 5 input terminal panels, each providing their own separate set of interfaces, as follows: Panel 1 - D-Sub 15 and Audio (stereo mini jack); Panel 2: RGBHV or Y/Cb/Cr (BNC x5) plus Audio (Stereo mini jack); Panel 3: DVI-D (with HDCP), Audio (stereo mini jack); Panel 4: Component Video (RCA x3) plus L and R Audio (RCA x2); Panel 5: Composite Video(RCA x1), S-Video plus L and R Audio (RCA). Additionally, the device also supports a wired remote control jack, USB and RS232C control interfaces and a RJ45 LAN connector.
Moreover, it's also important to mention the fact that Sanyo's standard RJ45 LAN feature allows for control and administration of a projector via a network. Projector status can be monitored and projector functions can be controlled through a web browser, while a notification can be automatically sent via e-mail whenever the projector encounters a problem.
The PDG-DWT50L WXGA Tabletop Multimedia Projector can be purchased for around 5,500 – 7,000 US dollars, which is not that bad a price, all things considered. |
