The Spark loudspeakers in the Audio Physic's series are nothing but floorstanding excellence selling for an affordable price and sworn to change the way you were used to experience your audio media. Building on pretty much the same platform as the Yara II Classic, the Spark feature the same high-tech heritage and retain the audiophile-grade character that has made Audio Physic products famous throughout the world.
We're talking about tall floorstanding loudspeakers with a slender wooden cabinet loaded with a 2.5-way driver complement and residing on a massive plinth for better decoupling form the floor and enhanced stability. The Audio Physic Spark will easily integrate in almost any home decor, no matter whether we're considering a modern or a retro one; they also come with removable grilles for an even greater placement versatility. Taking things a step further from the Yara, these speakers sport a VCT (Vibration Control terminal) for enhanced protection from all negative effects of loudspeakers resonance.
The driver complement comprises 3 units: two 5.9-inch woofers and a classic 1-inch tweeter. The two drivers have been tuned differently so we can talk about a bass driver and a bass/midrange version, working together for a very smooth transition from the LF to the HF sectors. The vibrations caused by these woofers are compensated by internal strutting and damping so they will never interfere with the overall sonic response of the Audio Physic Spark or that of the tweeter. These woofers reach a hefty 38Hz bottom-end, suitable for use without the need of an additional subwoofer.
The tweeter runs with a double-magnet coated soft dome whose upper shelf reaches an audiophile-grade 33kHz level, allowing you to enjoy the full richness of high-def formats like SACD or DVD-Audio. It is loaded in a massive and strong metal faceplate for a very serious isolation from any mechanical interference and it helps producing a rich and transparent acoustic imaging. The Audio Physic Spark can handle as much as 120W in 4 Ohms with a 89dB sensitivity and a pair sells for prices under $3,000. |
