If you feel like taking things to a new, higher level as far as the way your home audio is concerned, you could visit a Dynaudio dealer and ask to see and hear a Confidence C2; you'll be amazed by the way this tall and impressive floorstander deploys most transparent and well-organized sound.. it has been especially developed fr those who value an artsy appearance and are not at all willing to make any compromise, acoustically speaking.
The Dynaudio Confidence C2 is truly graceful in his tall, towering cabinet; residing on a solid baseplate rendering the whole structure more stable, it comprises wood panels as thick as 38mm for severely cutting off any resonance and vibration, while the heavy internal bracing terminates most of the stationary waves developing when this loudspeaker is driven hard. The included adjustable feet with internal spikes ensure maximal decoupling from the floor for a better sonic response.
The driver complement is impressive as well, as we're dealing with a vented 2-way, 4-driver array running with twin tweeters and woofers. So to speak, the Dynaudio Confidence C2 is a large-scale d'Appolito array, loaded on a massive metal frontplate embedded in the front baffle of the floorstander. The bass/midrange woofers sport 170mm single-piece molded PP cones with 75mm voice coils. They are moved by super-strong neodymium magnet rings and have pure aluminium wiring on Kapton formers. The tweeters themselves run on the same pure aluminium wiring and oversized magnet rings; they are ferrofluid-cooled and have 28mm soft domes, laoded in very sturdy 10mm aluminium-alloy fronts for better heat dissipation; these HF units are rear-chambered and are ventilated and damped.
The overall response of the Dynaudio Confidence C2 runs from a rumbling 28Hz bottom-end to a 25kHz superior cutoff point, perfect for high-def audio tracks reproduction as well. The driver complement is 89dB-sensitive and can handle as much as 300W in 4 Ohms. These amazing loudspeakers are priced around $12,000 a pair.
