Linn Katan is the thing for you, if you happen to be looking for bookshelf loudspeakers both small in size and yet retaining the specs of the larger high-end loudspeakers; the Katan is a loudspeaker that will go almost anywhere around your room – its small size allows it to find positioning in every corner of the house, from optional floor stands to table tops or directly on the floor, according to your own preferences. Even more, the sober and “timeless” design will allow the Linn Katan to match with almost any home décor.
The Linn Katan is a two-way bookshelf loudspeaker that is just perfect for your day to day listening habits, for both music and movies; it sports looks and brawn alike and can be used with exceptional results in both smaller-scale stereo applications (like flanking your TV, for example) or as exquisite front/rear loudspeakers in surround multi-channel arrays. In either cases, the Linn Katan will offer impressive performance and let you enjoy more of your audio media.
The Katan sports a sober yet very stylish cabinet, small and slender, made from high-density materials for stable and acoustically-inert behavior, with minimal coloration and distortions regardless of the volume level. The driver complement is formed from a bass/midrange woofer and a tweeter. The 160mm-diameter woofer sports polypropylene cone with enhanced structural strength for better sound; it also comes with a metal cast chassis and twin magnet motor structures, yet safe for placement near sensitive equipment due to the thorough shielding. The response of this driver goes down to 75Hz in the passive Katan and 60.Hz in the active version.
The 3/4” tweeter sports neodymium magnets for fast and most precise operation, delivering shimmering highs up to 20kHz for a crystal-clear sonic imaging and increased sound transparency. It sports an infinite-baffle placement and the dome technology ensure optimal dispersion for exceptional listening conditions. The Linn Katan works at 85dB sensitivity with 8 Ohms impedance. |
