The Linn Komponent 106 is one serious center channel loudspeaker that brings forth specs and performance rarely met in other manufacturers' ranks; it's not the absolute best but among the elite of such speakers, by far. The Linn Komponent 106 is pretty much a derivation of the series' flagship, the 110 model.
The Linn Komponent 106 is a precision-engineered loudspeaker whose impeccable craftsmanship and technology-heritage are second to none; a 4-way enclosure whose cabinet is especially designed to prevent vibrations, resonance and stationary waves from negatively influencing the sonic response; the extruded-aluminum cabinet comes with no glued or free joints and sports extreme strength for supreme sound.
The Linn Komponent 106 sports a 2K driver array, the same technology present in the flagship speakers Artikulat, Akurate or Komri, only at a smaller scale: the 2K comprises a 16mm treble driver and a 30mm mid driver, all placed on the same separate baffle and creating a single-point radiant source that offers exceptional imaging and mid/hi presence for exceptional soundstaging and incredible listening.
The bass sector of the audio spectrum has a very neat representation in the Linn Komponent 106: we're dealing with three separate-frequency drivers:a 4” for bass, a 5” driver for the lower bass and another 5” running as a passive radiator, air-driven. The driver complement on the Linn Komponent 106 can go from a 70Hz bottom-end to a clean 20kHz top-end, in 6 Ohms impedance and with 85dB sensitivity.
Like all models in the Komponent series, the 106 can be either placed on a stand or wall-mounted for freeing up additional space in your room. |
