The Altea 7 is the largest loudspeaker in the super-affordable Altea series; it has been developed for those who want great-sounding loudspeakers in their homes, but without having to get a loan for them. The Magnat Altea 7 is a large loudspeaker but without being immense - it packs 3-way architecture in a super strong MDF cabinet which also sports rear-firing bass reflex venting ports for a smoother and more present bass.
Whatever the purpose, the Magnat Altea 7 will deliver substantial sound that will pay for every dime; from the awesome and rather unexpected 22Hz bass to the shimmering 45kHz HF limit, the Magnat Altea 7 are loudspeakers that cover for all and go even further – no matter if you're listening to high-definition music on DVD-Audio or SACDs or watching intense movies, the sound of these loudspeakers will simply be impeccable.
The drivers are placed in a compact vertical array, all placed in the mid and upper areas of the towering cabinet. The tweeter has a 1-inch cloth dome with extended dynamics and which can actually ensure hi-quality sound regardless of the pressure it faces in prolonged sessions.
The 7-inch cones of the bass and mid drivers are made from super-strong cellulose compound yet they are light and sport awesome dynamics. The mid-range and the two bass drivers are crossover-ed so they produce clear and crunchy mid-range for enhanced vocal presence and overall sonic detail and a rumbling and round bass for filling in the room.
They blast 160W continuous power in 4-8 Ohms and with a very loud 92dB sensitivity making them twice as loud as your common 89dB speakers. Selling for around $300 (European market). |
