For a small scale stereo application in your office or home, as well as used in a hi-class multi-channel surround sound system, the Image Monitor B25 from PSB can easily be one of the premiere choices, especially when you're on a budget, too. The Monitor B25 has been designed to perfectly voice-match with any speakers in the Image series, in no matter what combination; even more, The B25 will surprise you with the power and clarity of its acoustic response, pretty much unexpected from such small-sized enclosures.
The PSB Image Monitor B25 is a relatively small bookshelf speaker that can be placed on neat optional floorstands as well as freely positioned across the room: its size allows for a great versatility, suiting your needs. While coming in a wooden enclosure, the PSB Image Monitor B25 retains the overall engineering of the series' floorstanders, with minimal vibrations and resonance and a neatly-warmed up sound coming through the bass reflex sound.
The sound comes from a simple yet noble 2-way array running on a mid/bass woofer and a HF driver. This complement is capable of reproducing a very hefty frequency range spanning from 45Hz to a shimmering 23kHz, suitable even for hi-def formats such as SACD or DVD-Audio. The woofer has an injection molded metalized polypropylene cone 6.5” in diameter, encircled by a rubber surround providing longer excursion and a precise movement as well. The tweeter has a 1” aluminum dome and sports ferrofluid-cooling for impeccable operation even in high-strain conditions or prolonged sessions.
The PSB Image Monitor B25 can offer a 91dB-sensitive sound in 6 Ohms impedance and as powerful as 100W RMS, selling for around $480 a pair. |
