The Japanese company Toshiba has released a fairly large number of display-related products over the past few years, including here a fairly large number of LCD TV sets. And this is exactly the type of product we'll talk about as follows, namely the company's 52-inch 52LX177 model, unveiled back in the second half of 2007, which offers a very interesting set of features at a more or less average price tag.
First and foremost, it's quite interesting to note that the TV set has been fitted with a ColorBurst wide color gamut LCD panel, which expands the number of available colors and improves the color accuracy. ColorBurst technology utilizes enhanced CCFL back-light technology to expand the color range to 90%+, thus significantly improving both color purity and color saturation, and combined with superior processing and a superior back-light, creates colors that are vibrant and natural.
Additionally, the device features a DynaLight dynamic back light control system, which monitors the brightness level of each video frame and automatically adjusts the backlight intensity based on the image content. Precise signal analysis affords 256 levels of backlight intensity, which creates dynamic contrast up to 5X that of the original panel contrast, resulting in a deeper black level that increases detail and depth, even in low light environments.
Another important feature embedded in Toshiba's LCD TV is ClearFrame 120Hz anti-blur technology, designed to eliminate motion blur without decreasing image brightness, or adding flicker by doubling the displayed frame rate to 120 frames per second or 120 Hz.
Moroever, ClearFrame uses superior Motion Vector Frame Interpolation (MVFI) technology and takes full advantage of the power of the PixelPure processor. And since we're on the subject, it's also worth mentioning the fact that the device offers PixelPure 3G 14-Bit Internal Digital Video Processing, an advanced third-generation digital video processing system capable of producing 4,096 levels of gradation for a smooth, natural-looking picture without image banding.
The audio-related features provided by this particular REGZA model are also quite impressive, including here the SoundStrip 2 Speaker System, which offers SRS WOW compatibility, Dolby Digital Sound (AC-3), Dolby Digital Dynamic Range Control, StableSound, with an overall wattage of 20 W.
Furthermore, Toshiba's LCD comes packed with a very wide array of connectivity options, including here HDMI, CE-LINK, PC Input, Component, A/V and Ethernet (RJ-45), which can be used for connecting numerous playback devices.
Toshiba's 52-inch 52LX177 can be purchased from various retailers for around 2,600 – 3,500 US dollars, which is not exactly very unusual, taking into account all the advanced features this thing packs. |
