4GB Steampunk Flash Drive Is Way Overrated

If usually the flash drives that I talk about (if or when I do) are just plain mass production USB stick drives and at most $50, this one is slightly different. The description online says that divers found the remains of the Nautilus and have recovered what appears to be Captain Nemo's personal flash drive, or Pocket Memory.

Also, the DIY-er clearly states that even if it looks like it came out of Captain Nemo's vest pocket, the flash drive has never been underwater.

The manufacturer, going by the nickname of WillRockwell, hand-made this out of brass and copper and indeed it is unique and a one-of-kind art object. It comes with its own period case that sports a plush velvet, which rests the Steampunk flash drive.

Further on, the DIY-er explains (actually answers, I think) to a fact posted on some website, with someone saying they're unsure why the $3,000 price tag and thinking that it was a typo. As Will tells us, it is not a typo, that's just the price.

That is because as an artist, he also appreciates art and he probably doesn't feel like giving up his creation for $300, which would have made the flash drive disappear quickly. Even knowing the $3,000 price tag and that he probably gets to keep it considering it is only a 4GB flash drive with a fancy overrated casing, I can relate to what he stated with the sum.

"$3,000 is simply what it would take to pry the drive out of my hands and take it from my world into yours;" so, if you feel the urge to have one cool steampunk flash drive, try looking a little more. I bet you can find one a lot cheaper and maybe cooler.
