Changing pixel shaders and DirectX versions is nothing that gamers take lightly since usually that means they will have to dig deeper into their pockets to get a new graphics card. And if you have a gamer friend, you know that the temptation will be too much to withstand. And with offers like AMD's new ATI Radeon HD 5800 Series cards, who can blame them? Stick around in order to hear everything about their new DirectX 11 enabled HD 5800 Series. Trust me, it's worth the read!

The initial AMD release will comprise of two graphics cards: the ATI Radeon HD 5870 and ATI Radeon HD 5850, each one having 1GB GDDR5 memory as well as featuring technologies such as ATI Eyefinity multi-display, ATI Stream technology and of course being DirectX 11 compliant. All you will need in order for DirectX 11 to work is the card and a Windows 7 running computer.

“With the ATI Radeon HD 5800 series of graphics cards driven by the most powerful processor on the planet, AMD is changing the game, both in terms of performance and the experience,” said Rick Bergman, senior vice president and general manager, Products Group, AMD. “As the first to market with full DirectX 11 support, an unmatched experience made possible with ATI Eyefinity technology, and ATI Stream technology harnessing open standards designed to help make Windows 7 that much better, I can say with confidence that AMD is the undisputed leader in graphics once more.”

The ATI Radeon HD 5800 Series cards support both DirectX and OpenCL and are designed especially with gamers in mind, with games such as DiRT 2, Aliens vs. Predator, The Lord of the Rings Online or Dungeons and Dragons Online being a few of the titles that support DirectX 11 and work wonderfully with the ATI Radeon HD 5800 series.
