Oh boy, product leaks seem to be coming from the weirdest possible corners of the world these days, don't they? I mean, just remember the iPhone 4G, which popped-up in Vietnam, of all places (after being of course explored by the guys over at
Gizmodo).
Anyway, the reason why we're talking about leaked gadgets here is that such an event occurred yet again, this time starring what appears to be a Windows Phone 7 – ready handset, manufactured by none other than
Asus. And in order to tie things up to the previous paragraph, the location where this photo originates is quite strange – Pakistan, of all places.
Leaked via a
Twitter account (and made available by
Pocketnow), the photo portraying the Asus Windows 7 phone sports a serial number on top and a "powered by ASUS" branding on the bottom. The handset also sports a brushed metal face, while featuring what seems to be a front-facing camera in one of its corners.
Last, but certainly not least, the display appears to be OLED, which is very good news for those people out there who're looking for a truly high-end display powering their mobile device.
Of course, we're still waiting for some official confirmation from Asus regarding this device, but it's very likely that this is a pre-production model, with the finite, consumer-ready version being slightly different. Nevertheless, as the end of 2010 approaches, it's very likely that we'll see more and more such products make their way online and, hopefully, even make their official debut.
We are just a few, but there are many of you, Softpedia users, out there. That's why we thought it would be a good idea to create an email address for you to help us a little in finding gadgets we missed. Interesting links are bound to be posted with recognition going mainly to those who submit. The address is
