It's quite easy to get distracted by all those Android based smartphones that seem to be popping around everywhere, but there are actually users that don't need a device build on top of such a powerful platform, a feature phone being more then enough for them, perhaps one with a QWERTY keyboard such as the Pantech Laser.
Available at AT&T this is actually the thinnest QWERTY slider that you can purchase from this carrier (being just 9.95 millimeters thick), while also packing a 3.1 inch AMOLED capacitative touchscreen to make things a little more interesting (although this can only display a disappointing 262K colors).
Unfortunately, we don't get much more than this, although AT&T bundles this phone with some applications to make a lot more social network friendly, among other things.
Other features include a 3MP snapper on the back, that can also record video, a GPS module as well as a microUSB port together with Bluetooth 2.0 and 3G capabilities.
All in all, we don't really get that much from the Pantech Laser, but then again this is just a
“messaging phone" so we shouldn't expect that much from it.
Pantech Laser will be available at AT&T starting October 17 for $99.99, after $50 mail-in rebate, together with a new two year commitment.
