Acer seems to have gone more cheerful then a Christmas carol with its new Aspire One Happy models that try to fill “you with a sense of well-being and happiness” coming in colors such as Candy Pink, Lavender Purple, Lime Green and Hawaii Blue, to transform your netbook into a fashion statement.
So, whether you may want to add “a touch of femininity and playfulness to your life” or “feel the freshness of the ocean and the freedom of the sky” Acer is set to deliver, although how a netbook can make you fell fresh is beyond me.
Anyway, getting past all that feel good philosophy, the Aspire One Happy series seems to borrow quite a lot from its more down to earth siblings,
Acer releasing these new models with a 10.1 inch WSVGA display, an
Intel Atom N450 processor, 2GB of RAM memory, integrated GMA 3150 graphics, a 250GB hard drive as well as WiFi and Bluetooth connectivity.
All these are packed inside a really thin 24mm chassis, six-cell battery packing models coming in at 1.25kg so these should actually be pretty easy to carry around with you especially considering that up to 8 hours autonomy that Acer is promising.
And if eight hours don't seem like enough, then you would be happy to know that Acer has also added a dual-boot feature to its Aspire One Happy
netbooks, enabling users to choose between Android 2.1 and Windows 7, so going for Google's operating systems should definitely improve the battery life of these things.
So, if you think that a computer can actually be “as sweet as candy, scented as a field of lavender, brisk as lime juice or fresh as the ocean” then go for the £249.99 Aspire One Happy series, but don't blame me it they don't work exactly as advertised.
