If you are searching for a thin and light notebook, but have a limited budget, Acer's TimelineX series is one of the very few options available so you would be happy to know the company has just refreshed these popular models with new Intel Core processors.

The star of the show is the new Aspire TimelineX 1830T-68U118 that combines performance with ultra-portability, this compact 11.6-inch model coming in with an Intel Core i7 680UM processor, that features Turbo Boost technology, 4GB of DDR3 and a 500GB hard drive for $899.99.

If this seems as bit steep to you, the 1830T can also be configured with low-voltage Intel Core 3 and Core i5 processors for a starting of $599.99, not a bad deal at all if you ask me.

This new 11.6-inch offering is accompanied by new 14-inch 4820T and 15.6-inch 5820T models, this time featuring a DVD drive alongside Intel Core i3 or i5 processors, 4GB of memory and up to 500GB hard drives, the Aspire 4820T also coming in with ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5650 switchable graphics.

The 16.6 inch 5820T is starting at $699.99 while the 4820T has a base retail price of $799.99.

Unfortunately, all the models feature an 1366x768 HD resolution display and, while this isn't a bad option for the 11.6 inch 1830T, the larger 14 and 15.6 inch offerings really crave for more screen real estate.

"Our new Aspire TimelineX 1830T delivers a rare combination of ultra-mobility and superb performance using an Intel Core i7 processor that gives customers enormous capabilities in a highly compact design," said Pete Daily, senior manager of product marketing, Acer notebooks.

"Additionally, the rest of the TimelineX line delivers the same sought-after attributes of incredibly long and reliable all-day battery life, slim and sleek designs and enhanced performance."

Although Acer really seams to push the Core i7 boasting TimelineX 1830T-68U118, the other Core i3 and Core i5 packing 1830T models seem like the better option here, since they offer about the same processing power while also coming in at an impressive price point.
