I don't know if you remember that Nike social arm band or something like that I told you about quite a while ago, but it was just about time that Adidas came up with a similar product. Ladies and gents, it is my honor (uhmm.. not quite actually) to introduce you to the Adidas miCoach system, which is claimed to guide users through workout routines, by providing them with audio feedback, while it keeps track of their vital signs.
So, it seems that this
is actually like that Nike+, but with a lot more features, including a coach shouting at you (so the ones keen on someone shouting at them could get this and the
Pocket Radar). Just like the product this competes with, I think, the Adidas miCoach features a stride sensor that keeps track of the user's running pace, while as an addition, there's also a heart rate monitor and even an audio feedback unit that is there to aid the runner in keeping track of his or her workout schedules.
What is neat about it, or at least seems neat without actually playing with this, is that Adidas claims that miCoach will actually let you know which training zone you are in, accordingly with the device you are using, namely audibly when using miCoach Pacer and visually when using miCoach Zone. Customers are provided with the ability to sync miCoach Pacer to the Adidas
dedicated web page in order to be supplied with detailed analysis of their stats and even receive coaching feedback online.
Two more things that make me wonder are if the price difference, as in compared to the $30 worth Nike+ kit, is worth it, because getting the Adidas miCoach will leave you between $70 and $140 shy and, of course, if that voice feedback gets annoying because you can punch a real coach, but you can't smash a $140 worth device.
