Yesterday was a good day for Adobe Systems Incorporated. It announced the (soon to be made available) Adobe Flash Player 10.1, got a lot of companies to join the Open Screen Project and, well, gave us smartphone users hope that the 10.1 variant of the Adobe Flash Player will make browsing flash sites a bit easier than before. It is morning now and Adobe still has something left up its very long sleeve of announcements.

And by that I mean the fact that it has recently announced that Flash Professional CS5 will allow developers to create applications for the iPhone and iPod touch. The public beta of Flash Professional CS5 is stated as coming sometime later this year. It seems that the iPhone will no longer be such a hard to “consider yours” device seeing how, with a bit of knowledge, you could basically create an application of your own without having to pay for one in the app store.

During the MAX keynote presentation, Adobe also showcased the way developers would be able to use Flash Professional CS5 in order to export their applications to the iPhone. A few iPhone apps were also shown, from developers such as Bowler Hat Games, Breakdesign, FlashGameLicence, Muchosmedia, PushButton Labs or South Park Digital Studios. You'll also be happy to know that there are a few Adobe apps making their way to the App Store as we speak, namely an application for Adobe Acrobat Connect Pro or one for Adobe's Web conferencing solution.

As for the Adobe runtime, that will be unavailable since the iPhone SDK does not allow it; therefore, the Flash Player won't be coming to Safari. I'll leave the ending to Kevin Lynch, chief technology officer at Adobe, “The engineering teams at Adobe have succeeded in bringing the latest Flash technology to the iPhone, opening the way for the Flash community to deploy to the App Store. When Apple is ready to bring the full Web browsing experience to iPhone users, we'll be ready to bring Flash Player to Safari.”

We are just a few, but there are many of you, Softpedia users, out there. That's why we thought it would be a good idea to create an email address for you to help us a little in finding gadgets we missed. Interesting links are bound to be posted with recognition going mainly to those who submit. The address is .
