You know, Aiptek introduced
a 3D camcorder a while ago, and from there on it was almost bound that the company would also take out a compatible viewing device, in the shape of a digital photo frame frame. Just recently I came cross the 3D photo frame from the aforementioned company, which has been aptly called the 'Portable 3D Photo and Video Display' (making it easier for customers to understand what it's all about).
Come to think of it, "display" sounds much better than a frame, so plus one just for that. Seven-inch over the diagonal, the LCD display sports the glasses-free layer, enabling everyone in a home or office to
enjoy the 3D images or videos.
Nevertheless, taking into account the diagonal size and perspective compression from a distance, I wouldn't know what to comment over its capability of displaying an adequate depth from a few meters away.
Fully compliant with the i2 3D camcorder, as well as other 3D capturing devices, the Portable 3D Photo and Video Display should be on the shelves by 15th of August, with a price tag of $200. Now that's an affordable couple, namely $400 for a complete capture + display duo,
from Aiptek. Lastly, I would also mention the interesting supporting leg (or peg if we think of pirates), that slides-in into the display when hand-holding it.
We are just a few, but there are many of you, Softpedia users, out there.
