Beside the Octiv Duo Speaker/Charger we've talked about yesterday, Altec Lansing has also come up with a very interesting offering for all the audiophiles out there, namely the Muzx Ultra (MZX606) in-ear headphones, that offer an immersive soundstage, fully leveraging the built-in balanced armature technology in order to achieve an enhanced level of audio clarity.
The single balanced armature technology used by the Muzx Ultra is apparently able to create more sound from less power and an extensive range of audible frequencies, the technology differing from conventional drivers by employing a variable position armature "floating" in a magnetic field.
When a specific current is applied, the armature shifts to control a diaphragm to create the precise sound.
Ideal for everyday use, the Muzx Ultra also has an impressive 26 dB
isolation to shield the user from extraneous background noise such as traffic, engine noise and crowds.
The in-line remote allows users to control an iPhone or iPod easily, while the in-line microphone makes a seamless transition to telephone calls.
Naturally, the design of the Muzx
headphones also plays a very important part in the audio quality they deliver, the 46-inch cable, for example, having a precision-engineered strain relief component at the driver and another separate strain relief component at the gold plated 3.5mm jack, since they tend to be the most frequent tension failure points for all earphones.
Beside the Muzx Ultra flagship model, the Altec Lansing Muzx line of headphones is also being expanded to two more models, including the Muzx Core (MZX206) and Muzx Extra (MZX406).
The Muzx Core features a large 10mm Neodymium driver for crystal clear audio and an in-line microphone, while the Muzx Extra allows users to feel the richness of deep tones and control their compatible devices with a full-featured Apple in-line remote.
The Altec Lansing Muzx Ultra Earphones (MZX606) will be available in October 2010 at a MSRP of around $99.95, while the Muzx Core (MZX206) and Muzx Extra (MZX406) headphones will sell for $29.99 and $49.95, respectively.
