Now, here's another piece of news that got me the goose bumps, just like the others involving this Carpal Tunnel Syndrome that I have reported on so far. I am actually considering buying some wrist protection for constant usage, because I have just seen pictures of the surgery
needed for releasing the nerve and I am still in shock.
Getting back to the topic, here's another case of massive texting from a teenager, in the US, of course. Annie Leivitz by her name, 16 years old, has managed to get herself the Carpal Tunnel Syndrome by sending 4,000 texts a month. Doing some simple math, we can see that she was sending an average of one message every 8 minutes, which for the majority of teenagers seems nothing uncommon, but even more, actually quite a few messages.
Well, come to think about it, I do remember that girl sending 10,000 text message, which didn't result in carpal tunnel, but did end up with her phone getting hammered by her father. So, doing some simple math again, I can relate to the fact that 4,000 texts would cost about $1,900,
since the girl sending 10K received a $4,756 bill.
All in all, the one in this case probably kept sending this amount of messages for several months if she managed to end up with carpal tunnel, so I have to wonder what kind of parents she has that would not notice anything strange in $1,900 bills over text messages.
And as far as word goes, this girl wants an iPhone now, because of the soft keyboard that won't be that rough on her hands. Her solution seems funny at first, but it should be actually worrying that a girl who got Carpal Tunnel Syndrome from texting too much won't resume to texting less.
