Robotics has evolved so much lately that it's almost scary to think about the future and whether we would be replaced anytime soon. One of the latest examples of technological development in this field is the QA telepresence robot from Anybots, presented at this year's Consumer Electronics Show, in Las Vegas.

What this robot does is allow you to be in two places at once. This way, you can enjoy complete freedom to move fluidly and interact with others in a remote location from the ease of your home or office. The QA telepresence robot operates simply, cleanly and quietly while still giving you a full physical presence. It allows you to see and be seen, talk and listen, and collaborate in ways and places never before possible.

Once powered up, you log into QA and move it around at will. Your face shows up in its chest, your voice is heard through its speakers and you can see the world through its camera-eyes. You can make it bend and look around, and it even has a laser that you can use to point to things that need to be done.

QA has a battery life of four to six hours, depending on usage, and can move around at speeds of up to 6mph. It features 802.11g wireless connectivity, two 5M color cameras with ir illuminator, a 7-inch color LCD and it is PC and Mac compatible.

Currently, the company is small and is looking for investors, or any sort of financial help that would allow it to streamline their manufacturing process and drop that kick-in-the-gut 30,000 USD price tag. Until that happens, you can benefit from the features of the QA telepresence robot only if you are filthy rich, so there will probably be only a few QA robots in the entire world.

We are just a few, but there are many of you, Softpedia users, out there. That's why we thought it would be a good idea to create an email address for you to help us a little in finding gadgets we missed. Interesting links are bound to be posted with recognition going mainly to those who submit. The address is .
