Right now, size is a major issue as far as portable data storage solutions are concerned. So, what most users require from a portable storage solution is to be as thin and portable as possible, at the same time packing quite a lot of storage “punch” (the more GB, the merrier). And, according to Apacer, that's exactly what its brand-new Handy Steno AH127 “super-mini USB Drive” is offering, since it manages to combine a very slim form factor with an advanced compression technology and hefty amount of storage space.

It's important to mention that the AH127 seems to be a pretty good-looking drive, at least at first sight. The portable storage device is available in an all-white design and is accompanied by a metal bead chain, which some people might find more or less useless and kitsch, while others might see that as quite practical.

As mentioned before, the flash drive manages to keep a very “fit” form factor by utilizing the Chip-on-Board (COB) technology, which effectively reduces the size of the USB drive, while protecting the data with waterproof, dustproof, and anti-shock functions. The COB technology manages to merge fast flash memory chip, the circuit board and the product’s exterior, thus rendering it a lot tougher and stronger.

According to Apacer, its AH127 is available in storage capacities ranging from 2GB to 16GB, and comes with the ACE compression software, to effectively compress data storage capacity. Apparently, by using the software, the data storage can reach 500% capacity after compression.

For the time being, Apacer has not been kind enough to provide sufficient information regarding the pricing of its AH127 USB flash drives. However, given the type of product we're talking about, as well as the average pricing on this particular market segment, I'm willing to bet that the prices for these new portable storage units will be pretty acceptable, if not even affordable.
