Oh, Apple, have your designs been leaked into the hands of some Chinese manufacturers willing to make some serious bucks on selling devices that look just like your future tablet? Well, most likely, that's not really the case, but just take a peek at the photo... doesn't it look just like all those renderings that have made their way onto the Internet over the past couple of months?
Anyways, coming back to the real world, the truth of the matter is that what you're seeing here has absolutely nothing to do with Apple, but it is, nevertheless, an
Internet-enabled tablet PC. Called DigitalRise X9 and available on the heaven of Chinese gadgets (yeah, I'm talking about Chinagrabber here), this thing is touted as being a 3G and GPS-enabled 10.2-inch tablet, which also offers a multi-touch display and a list of features a mile long.
The
tablet is apparently powered by a 1.6GHz Intel Atom N270 processor, accompanied by an Intel GMA 950 GPU. Other features of the D-rise X9 include 2GB of RAM, 160GB hard drive, Wi-Fi 802.11a/b/g, three USB ports, VGA connector, and a four-in-one card reader (SD/MMC/MS/MS Pro).
Furthermore, the
device supports a wide array of connectivity and networking options, including here WCDMA, TD-SCDMA, CDMA2000 3G connectivity. The X9 from DigitalRise also offers a choice of 2,800 mAh or 3,500 mAh batteries capable of providing a functioning life of up to four hours.
Unfortunately, the X9 Tablet PC is quite far from the iSlate in terms of dimensions and weight. So, this portable computing system weighs about 2kg and measures a hefty 226.3 x 166.9 x 24.7 mm, which is a lot larger than we expect Apple's tablet to be.
Also, pricing for the X9 is pretty high, given its features, the good folks over at Chinagrabber asking around 780 US dollars for this thing.
