This time a grown-up gadget that costs $179 USD, the Archos 7 Home Tablet has been spotted by Alex at CeBIT and also checked out for you digital lifestyle readers that want to know every little detail about every gadget out there. We are the same, don't worry, and this time, we are happily reporting about this tablet, my colleague at CeBIT saying it is a fast one, in menus and on the internet as well.
What I would also like to tell you is to be very careful if ever interested in purchasing this gadget because there seems to be a little bit of confusion created around this gadget's name, by the people at Archos.
This internet tablet featuring a 7-inch display and running
Android I am talking about here is the Home Tablet version and you will be able to see from the pictures here that it looks a little different from the Archos 7 or Archos 7 Internet Tablet, meaning that it doesn't have the little speaker holes on the laterals.
The Home tablet
7 is still a part of the Archos 7 series, but it is a more affordable model, the producers saying that it can be used at home or
on the go. Well, duh! However, I think they are actually suggesting to use it at home, although I can't see why since it is Wi-Fi capable, 12 mm thin and weighs just 350 grams.
Perhaps it isn't the most versatile tablet out there but still a reliable tool on the go as well, considering the fact that it is quite fast. Alex also mentioned the fact that the fast speed of the Archos 7 Home Tablet is to be attributed to its screen because it is very responsive.
Archos boasts a 7-hour battery life if playing movies from the Home Tablet and an impressive 44 hours of music playback.
