It is a very rare occasion; in fact, I can't even remember the last time I referred to a router as being a very good-looking gadget. It is Asus that turns the world of fashion gadgets’ up side down, introducing one which has never dreamed of being a part of this bright and colorful world. The fashion iPad sleeves and laptops are all throwing skeptical looks at the newcomer RT-N56U
wireless router.
Yes, it looks good, in a futuristic way that really fits this type of device. I mean, a router does facilitate the connectivity to the internet and in SF movies and our imaginations, communication devices always have to look out of the ordinary. Not to mention the multitude of pure and simple boxes that exist out there right now, with the same functions as RT-N65U from Asus. They have announced it at CeBIT and, hopefully, future homes will have one of these routers at a certain point in time.
And don't you dare stop and think that this is a superficial gadget, not for one second, because Asus has built it with great care and have integrated some sophisticated technologies in it (don't ask me where), which allow it to hold 30,000 concurrent sessions and dual band support.
Although you might wonder where exactly the Ethernet plug will go, the producers say that RT-N65U will actually use a plug and surf interface. Other than the ridiculously good looking case, which as you can probably see, displays star shaped lights instead of the regular green LEDs used in the present, this
router will also be capable of supporting simultaneous printing and scanning if you have a wireless printer
around the house/office.
Thankfully, Asus didn't go for the organic, bamboo-type of structure for this gimmick and have done a good work in designing the RT-N56U router.
We are just a few, but there are many of you, Softpedia users, out there. That's why we thought it would be a good idea to create an email address for you to help us a little in finding gadgets we missed. Interesting links are bound to be posted with recognition going mainly to those who submit. The address is
