It's been quite a while since I have last met products rushing towards this rapid growing 3D market, so I'm quite happy that I came across Asus, who has just played show-off by unveiling two Designo ML series 3D monitors. It was today that Asus presented the Designo VG236 and PG276, namely two gaming monitors that will be on display at Computex.

Measuring 23 inches and 27 inches in diagonal, respectively, the two upcoming displays take advantage of mercury-free LED-backlit panels, and thus comply with the green and eco trend that is going around the market. Furthermore, the refresh rate is the usual 120Hz (usual for 3D monitors), as in 60Hz for each eye.

Supporting Nvidia's 3D Vision technology, the two will surely be targeted by gamers too, especially if the manufacturer puts a nice (and small) price tag on them. Even with the four inch difference in the diagonal size, both monitors feature 1920 x 1080 pixels resolution, so you might want to take a closer look at the smaller screen, just because it has the same resolution, crammed on a smaller display area, which results in a smaller pixel pitch, and of course, better image quality and sharper details.

Now here's the thing that will scare many away - the dynamic contrast ratio is rated at 10,000,000:1, since we all know that is pure marketing, with a simple scope of attracting ill-informed customers, that only look at numbers. Punch in a maximum brightness of 400 nits, dual-link DVI and HDMI inputs, as to support connecting gaming consoles, and that's about it with these two 3D monitors. The guy in the video bellow also mentions that each of these will be shipped with one pair of glasses.
