Aten has just announced that it has a new compact, PS/2/USB console sporting an embedded 19" LCD monitor, coming with a dual-rail 1U chassis named CL5800N, which resembles the one to your left that I have added for reference, since the picture available on the manufacturer's web page was too small. This one also complements the company's comprehensive series of LCD consoles, and, of course, operates seamlessly with
existing Aten KVM switches, as well as with many third-party units, thanks to the console's PS/2 or USB port.
"ATEN continues to raise the bar by introducing complete server room solutions that provide network administrators with the utmost flexibility - whether they are at the console locally or located remotely," explained Sampson Yang, CEO, ATEN. "With this dual rail 19" LCD console as our newest addition, we truly have the most expansive and affordably priced line of integrated LCD consoles on the market."
Given the dual rail architecture, network administrators will be enabled to independently operate the 19" SXGA LCD monitor, and full keyboard/touchpad module, while for even more versatility, there's also a second PS/2 - USB console, added for allowing a second operator to simultaneously access and control any of the servers in the installation.
The concrete benefits of the new CL5800N
include the maximizing of the space in data centers and server rooms, by taking advantage of the 1U chassis, and commodity of use thanks to its dual-rail design.
Customers that already possess a compatible KVM switch will benefit from the space saving delivered by the sliding console module, all with automatic adjustment of the server video setting, for an optimum display. Pricing for Aten's latest LCD console, the CL5800N, is set at $1,549.95.
