The Audi Shark is a futuristic flying concept vehicle with a streamlined design inspired by motorcycles and airplanes. It was designed by Kazim Doku and won the Desire Competition by Domus Academy for maximum performance, as well as safety. The name, of course, comes from its resemblance to a gray reef shark. Its streamlined design, sharp nose and fin-like rear lower spoiler contribute to the vehicle's "underwater" appearance.

Kazim Doku’s Shark concept is his interpretation of Audi’s design for the future: as a flying car. The name may appear more suited for a submersible car than a flying one, but the designer’s handling of the exteriors, especially the rear lower spoiler, gives the car an “underwater” look and justifies its name. That would have been the trickiest part to pull through.

Interiors get sporty seats integrated with the cockpit’s sculpture, so you can sit comfortably while gliding through air and tinkering with all the futuristic switches and panels available. The Audi Shark's most striking features are arguably the headlights and taillights, which are simply transparent tubes with embedded LEDs. Not too practical for the real world, but hey, neither are hover cars... yet.

Probably the most futuristic car concept so far

The Shark has enough room inside to seat two persons and comes complete with a set of horizontal fins on the back to complete the look... or perhaps even trigger a modernized 50s/60s fin revival. Of course that, no matter how good the engineers and designers over at Audi are, it will take quite some time until this hover car actually hits the roads, or should we say airways?

The Shark car is indeed a very innovative concept, but it will most likely remain as such for quite some time. Until then, we'll just have to settle for regular cars, or sly electric ones at most.
