As some of you will certainly remember, curiously enough, the
US market was one of the last to get a live mobile TV service, but ever since it was first announced, FLO TV has managed to seriously enhance its user base, especially by making this service available for various consumer-grade products. And, in fact, that's exactly the case with the device you'll read about as follows, namely the
Audiovox 7 Portable DVD Player with FLO TV, which lets users watch their favorite DVDs as well as TV shows at the touch of a button.
Practically, the device delivers a complete on-the-go entertainment experience, since it offers users not just DVD and CD playback on the 7-inch, 16:9 aspect ratio, 480 x 234 pixels display, but also access to all of the shows available via the FLO TV service.
The device packs 2 stereo speakers, as well as 2 audio headset jacks (for private listening), a miniUSB input and a Composite video output. It's also interesting to mention that it provides parental controls (V-Chip included), a feature that might actually extend its user segment.
Furthermore, the
device from Audiovox can be carried around fairly easily, as it measures just 9 x 7.54 x 1.75 inches and weighs roughly 2.05 lbs., while its built-in battery will provide up to 3 hours of TV programming or 2.5 hours of DVD viewing per charge.
Pricing for the Audiovox 7-inch FLO TV-enabled DVD player has been set at around 200 US dollars, but that's just for the device itself, because access to the service will cost you a bit extra.
