The “affair” between fashion and technology is no longer news; however, with the passing of time, their relationship seems to become more powerful and tight, resulting in products that are the best of both worlds. One of the latest examples to illustrate this trend is the BagTV fashionable accessory, a totally new concept in bag design, which combines luxury bags with gadgetry.
At first sight, it's a rather nice handbag actually modeled on a vintage shape from Gucci. Upon further inspection however, located behind a transparent screen, it reveals a lightweight 7-inch flat screen tablet with a DVD and MPEG player, USB port and SD card slot. So, your bag transforms itself into a portable TV for plenty of movie action and picture perusal.
As with most of other accessories meant for ladies, this model will come in a wide range of colors and finishes to make sure you'll never have a wardrobe mismatch. This way, you can choose between the glossy black, glossy red, black, navy and white, baby pink, tan and white versions. They all come with a security strap within, in order to keep all items safe and secure, a zipped pocket, mobile phone holder, and pocket for the credit card sized remote that operates the LCD screen and DVD player.
Made of leather and patent leather, the tech bags will be officially launched at the beginning of the next year only. However, they are available on line and can be ordered from the BagTV store, where they retail for the approximate price of 300 pounds sterling, or, differently put, almost 450 US dollars.
If you really think you might need a bag like that, there's no time to lose - you must order it right now. But if you just think that it would be cool to own such a bag, even though you're not quite sure, it's better to wait until 2009 and see how you feel about it then.
