I don't know how many of you had the chance to play with LEGO bricks when you were kids, but I'm pretty sure that those of you who did would go back to building all sorts of crazy stuff in an instant, should you have the chance. However, nowadays, a lot more building options are available than back when we were kids, and one of the most interesting such possibilities comes from Digital Blue, which has just launched the LEGO MP3 Player.
As the name says it (and as you can see from the photo), Digital Blue's LEGO MP3 Player mirrors the look of an actual LEGO brick, allowing users to even mount the MP3 Player on other LEGOS on the top/bottom. Plus, it's available in two color options, namely a multi-color one (with green, blue, red and yellow bricks) and a pink one, featuring two different shades of the color (or is that purple?).
Now, leaving the design aside, let's talk a bit about the features and specs that this very funky portable device has to offer. Hence, the player comes equipped with a 2GB internal memory module, which can be used for storing up to 1,000 songs. Furthermore, it packs a color LCD display, used for viewing various status-related details.
Sadly, the device provides a fairly limited level of versatility, at least as far as the supported file types are concerned, since it will work only with MP3 and WMA files. The same can be said about the connectivity options, which consist only of a type-B mini-USB connector, accompanied by a 3.5-mm headphone jack. The battery life is pretty good, since we're talking about eight hours of continuous playback time after a single charge.
Unfortunately, for the time being, no definite availability details have been provided, since all we know is that the Digital Blue LEGO MP3 Player is slated to become available at some point over the summer of 2009. However, we do know how much we'll have to save in order to get this thing, since the MSRP is of around 40 US dollars, for which users will get the LEGO MP3 Player, Earbuds, Software on unit, USB Cable and a User Guide.
