It's interesting to see some of the world's biggest CE manufacturers look away from profit every now and then and do something for people in need of help, medical or otherwise. And this is exactly what Belkin is doing right now, since it's partnered with the “Susan G. Komen for the Cure” organization in order to help the fight against one of the most dangerous diseases affecting women from all over the world, namely breast cancer.
In order to mark its support for this organization, Belkin has released some redesigned versions of its pink-ribbon
cases for the iPod touch, whose sales will contribute to the donations fund (which has already hit around $375,000, according to Belkin). So, whenever somebody purchases one of the special-edition DualFit and Grip cases for iPod touch, Belkin will donate $2.50 to support Susan G. Komen for the Cure (with a minimum guaranteed donation of $100,000).
The first product from the new “for the Cure” series, namely the DualFit for the Cure, features an adjustable dual-fit system that allows for best fit on any arm, by maximizing sizing. Furthermore, it packs a clear screen protector that allows for easy navigation, as well as a key pocket for convenient
storage while at the gym or outdoors. Plus, it's built from a reflective material and is also hand-washable.
The Grip for the Cure, on the other hand, sports a textured exterior that provides better grip, its form-fitting construction allowing charging while in sleeve and minimizing bulk.
Both “for the Cure” iPod touch
cases are scheduled to arrive in stores in mid-October, pricing being set at around 30 US dollars, which is a fairly standard sum to pay for such accessories, especially knowing that even the smallest contribution will help in the fight against breast cancer.
