In order to make the planet a better place and because they are aware the energy-saving markets are the place to be right now, Belkin is introducing four
new products that will help consumers keep their electricity bills at a minimum. The Conserve Insight, Smart AV, Valet and Socket are eco-friendly gimmicks promising zero power drains and easy home implementation.
“Our research shows that although people have a strong desire to minimize their impact to the earth, there haven’t yet been tools available to provide insight about their energy use. With the Conserve Insight, Socket, Valet, and Smart AV, people can now have better control and knowledge of their energy management,” said Mark Reynoso, CEO and President, Belkin. “We’ve combined our strengths in understanding people’s needs with our expertise in user-centric design to bring elegant and easy-to-use energy conservation solutions such as these into the home. With these four additions to our Conserve line, Belkin is enthusiastically pursuing the emerging category of energy conservation.”
Now, the $29.99 Conserve Insight is the only gadget here with a
monitoring function, as it is designed to tell users exactly what the energy consumption of various devices around the house is and then estimate the costs. It uses preloaded U.S. average electricity rate or the data from your bills, gives information about CO2 emissions and helps anyone keep track of a certain gadget and its impact on the planet and the user's budget.
The Smart AV is a multiple socket unit that will keep your TV and other gadgets around it such as DVD players safe from power spikes or surges, but also saves energy by turning them on and off thanks to a smart auto detection function. It also includes two always-on outlets so that certain peripherals of the home entertainment center that need constant powering on are not shut down along with the others. It costs $29.99 as well.
Belkin's Conserve Valet is a charging station capable of renewing the energy in the batteries of four mobile devices at the same time. It turns itself off when the gadgets are fully charged and will draw zero power when not in use. The gizmo comes with a USB to mini-USB cable, a USB to micro-USB cable and a tag of $39.99.
Last but not least, the Belkin Conserve Socket features a timer function through a 30-minute, 3-hour and 6-hour switch. Simply time it to shut off at those intervals and everything that connects to it will not receive power after that time. It retails for $9.99.
