As some of you might remember, we recently had the chance to take
BenQ's SP920 dual-lamp projector for a quick spin and we were very impressed by the functions and features it provided. And now, BenQ has decided to up the ante and rolled out a new product built on the same platform, but with certain improved capabilities, namely the SP920P model.
Similar to the SP920, the fresh projector supports a 1024 x 768 pixel resolution, a 2000:1 contrast ratio, plus a 6000 ANSI brightness level. The device employs a DLP projection system by Texas Instruments, as well as two different lamps, each providing a capacity of around 260 Watts. Image size ranges between 31 and 300 inches, with the throw ratio varying between 1.64 and 1.89.
Furthermore, the projector sports a manual zoom, 1.15:1 ratio, accompanied by a F=2.4~2.7 , f=38.87~46.63mm lens, as well as a 16.7 million color palette. Aspect ratio ranges between 4:3 and 16:9.
The BenQ SP920P adopts a unique positioning of the lamps, altering the angles of light emission to generate an ultra brightness of 6000 lumens. This trademark lamp design of BenQ not only enables the SP920P to project the brightest light but also helps increase the efficiency of the lamps so that you can enjoy the best projection while benefiting from energy conservation.
There are three projection modes to the SP920P. The high brightness mode projects the brightest image even in an auditorium. The economy mode slightly reduces the projection brightness in order to decrease the wear on projector lamps, which in turn ensures an interruption-free projection. The single lamp mode further minimizes the replacement of projector lamps.
As mentioned right from the start, the price of the BenQ projector is extremely high, the SP920P selling for an estimate 7,148.4 US dollars, which makes it a suitable solution mostly for the business and corporate environments.
