Without a doubt, Bluetooth headsets have been among the most useful devices ever developed, as they allow people to engage in mobile calls while leaving their hands free for working or, most often, holding a vehicle's steering wheel. However, even headsets require control buttons, or should we say, “required,” because BlueAnt has just introduced a new device of this type whose most important functions can be controlled directly and solely by the user's voice.

Dubbed BlueAnt Q1, this very innovative Bluetooth headset uses advanced Voice Recognition software, which allows users to easily control the headset and many phone functions, just by using their voice. The BlueAnt Q1 allows users to easily control their headset with simple Voice Commands rather than pressing multiple buttons or even looking at the phone.

Unlike other headsets that only support voice dial capabilities through the mobile phone’s voice features, voice control is embedded in the Q1 headset itself. Beyond voice dial capabilities, the Q1 enables the user to control all headset features such as pairing, volume and connection status using only their voice.

And if you're wondering just what type of commands the headset supports, here are some examples, “Redial,” “Call back,” “Answer/Ignore call” and “Check battery.” Users can even ask the Q1 “What can I say?” and the headset will verbally list all features available on the device. There is also a “Teach me” command that clearly guides the user through all Q1 functions. Saying “Pair me” gets the Q1 to guide the user in pairing with their cell phone.

Although this voice-control system represents, without a doubt, the main selling point of the new headset from BlueAnt, its other features are also quite noteworthy. Hence, the Q1 has super-soft silicon ear buds for enhanced comfort, dual microphones using BlueAnt’s Voice Isolation Technology and a proprietary Digital Signal Processor (DSP) software solution.

The Voice Isolation Technology employs advanced techniques to separate the user’s voice signal from all other sounds, enhance the voice and remove external noise coming into and out of the headset, the result being a high level of environmental noise reduction, echo cancellation and wind noise protection.

There's no word on the pricing and availability of this thing for the time being, but if the price point's not too exaggerated, this gadget might be a winner, given the numerous and interesting features it provides.
