Airport security has been very tight ever since 9/11, but things got a lot worse over the past couple of weeks, ever since the terrorist attack on the Detroit-bound flight in December 2009. So, in order to help travelers finish the screening process a bit faster, notebook accessory manufacturer
Booq has released the Taipan lift, a laptop carrying cases that can open up at 180 degrees, thus permitting the screening of the notebook stored within without actually taking it out of the bag.
Booq’s two-button feature creates a 30-degree opening that makes it easy to grab interior items while on the go, without stopping to open the whole bag. Users only have to unsnap the buttons and the Taipan lift will open a full 180 degrees, which may prevent having to remove their laptop while passing through security checkpoints.
Booq has included a zippered trolley handle pass-through, this allowing the Taipan lift to slide over the handle of one's rolling
luggage, leaving users a free hand to carry additional items. Plus, the Taipan lift also slides easily under the airline seat, for easier, hassle-free storage. The case is also equipped with two conveniently tucked away carrying handles and a completely removable shoulder strap so that one can carry the Taipan lift briefcase-style or over the shoulder.
“With all the recent changes in airport security, the
traveling professional needs something to speed the process of security checkpoints and ease the stress of airline travel,” says Booq’s Lead Product Designer Jake Orak. “Although Taipan lift is our most airport friendly bag yet, it might just be the most practical compact brief we have ever designed for everyday use.”
The Taipan lift notebook bag from Booq is available in two different versions, the S and the L, both of which are available at the company's online webstore for $89.95 and $99.95, respectively.
