Cables to Go, namely the preferred supplier of high performance cabling and connectivity solutions, has just announced that they are shipping the TruLink 60GHz WirelessHD Kit capable of wirelessly transmitting true 1080p signal between a television and other HDMI components.

"Consumers have been waiting for a reliable solution for transmitting high-resolution signals, and now it’s here with 60GHz WirelessHD technology,” said Gary Hess, vice president of innovation for Lastar, parent company of Cables To Go. “Cables To Go combines quality, features and price point with top-notch customer service that will help accelerate the adoption of WirelessHD. We will also continue to expand our WirelessHD offerings to provide consumers, businesses and other organizations with more options and flexibility.”

The WirelessHD Kit is probably one of the fastest and easiest ways of getting rid of cables, suiting delicate situations where in-wall cabling is not possible, be it due to brick or exterior walls, or not allowed, namely in rental property. Setting things up is as simple as connecting the receiver and transmitter to the television and the HDMI component, respectively. Capable of delivering a true 1080p, along with 7.1-channel surround sound signal, from HDMI components, like Blu-ray players, set-top boxes, computers and gaming consoles, to HDTVs, the WirelessHD Kit has range of up to 10 meters, so just in case you don't own a 20 meter long living room - it will surely suit you.

Mind you, the company mentions that a greater range might be achievable, and that the best efficiency is achieved by placing the receiver and transmitter at the same level, and facing each other. HDMI 1.3 standard-compatible, and complying with other WirelessHD 1.0 certified products, the WirelessHD Kit has a price of $499.99. For that amount, I would actually rather cover the holes in the walls.
