Here's a company that I would have never seen making technological gadgets. Calvin Klain has released its latest USB sunglasses. Because even geeks need to look cool, right? These nice shades will not only save you from the attack of the sun but will also have you carry 4GB of flash storage with you should the need of a USB Flash Drive arise.
You'll just take off one of their arms (I mean the shade's arms not the person needing an information transfer) and “badabing badaboom,” instant flash drive. Although if you were to ask me, these glasses aren't all that cool in order to deserve a Calving Klein-type brand price, I am sure there are a lot of geeks out there looking to upgrade their “bad-boy with a Gameboy” image.
The design is definitely not something out of this world, however, so don't you get any ideas about an ubercool technological masterpiece from the Calvin Klein labs. These are your regular “will cover half of your face so no one knows you're a YouTube star” shades, but they have an extra USB flash drive in one of their arms. Their decoupling and coupling mechanism is pretty cool looking (notice the themed band on the right arm) as well.
I wonder when the idea of “functional glasses” lost its charm. I mean, a long time ago, there was this crazy concept of sun protecting eye wear that did just that: they protected you from the sun, made you look cool and that was it. I have to admit I will never understand why glasses that are meant to protect your eyes have to cover your entire face while doing so.
And adding a USB Flash drive to the arm? What's up with that? Seriously now, how many times did you need a USB Flash drive and you were wearing sunglasses? The price is set at 199 USD and will hit stores in October should you want a pair. October? Who needs sunglasses in October?
We are just a few, but there are many of you, Softpedia users, out there.
