I don't know how many of you got to play the original “Castle Wolfenstein” game (not that many, probably), but you must have given a shot at its modern re-interpretation, “Return to Castle Wolfenstein.” Well, if you've played any of the titles mentioned above, then you'll surely admire the PC case mod you'll see as follows, namely the FuG-01/ET, which is directly inspired by the Wolfenstein universe.
The case has been developed by a modder going by the name of "Sheyr,” who has worked so hard on this thing that has
even drawn the attention of Ben Heckendorn, famous for modding the Xbox 360 in every possible way. And Ben really had a lot of good things to say about the FuG-01/ET, but for more personal considerations, you can check out his post on
Make regarding this amazing case.
As you can see from the photos, there are several features that really make this thing stand out from the crowd. First of all, there's the side-mounted telephone, which, despite not actually working, helps create the image of an old, WW2 radio station.
Another very striking feature is represented by the dual electric gauges, which measure the amperage and the core voltages. These two things
really stand out on the front side of the case and go very well with the antenna, as well as the carrying strap, which makes it look more like an old radio.
Besides the case itself, "Sheyr” has also done some paintwork on a couple of accessories, namely a keyboard and a mouse. And while these two peripherals have not undergone extensive transformations but just a paint job, the result is a very interesting one, the two items representing a very good match for the FuG-01/ET.
As always, the Wolfenstein PC case mod is not something you'll ever find in stores, but, with a little imagination and a lot of hard work, you could actually build your own.
