858 x 600 native resolution, 100 ANSI lumens, 2,000:1 contrast ratio, an integrated USB reader, TI's DLP technology and a lamp life of 20,000 hours. All this from a cute little device such as the BenQ LED P1 Pocket Projector. Looking definitely better than the Acer Pico I presented earlier, the BenQ Pocket Projector is the perfect tool when you have to present a slide show but there is no projector available. I don't think there's a very likely chance of that happening but I'll go with the flow on this one.

The coolest thing about this little gadget is that it has USB slots for USB direct playback. Too bad the projector does not handle extreme lighting conditions very well, images being very hard to see in powerful lighting. It's got OK image quality, perhaps better than Acer's Pico. I have always admired BenQ for trying to offer good quality at relatively affordable prices and managing to be a real competitor in everything it does.

What I like the most is the appearance of the projector. I can't help but think it looks a lot like something from one of the Fallout games. So, I give it a definite bonus point for its aspect. Let me offer you more details on BenQ. A Taiwanese multinational company, BenQ deals with selling and marketing of consumer electronics, computing and communications devices. Established in 1984 as a subsidiary of Acer, called Acer Peripherals, it was renamed BenQ in 2001 and managed to completely separate itself from

Acer in 2006.

Its corporate vision is “Bringing Enjoyment and Quality to life,” therefore the name BenQ. Although not exactly fighting in the big leagues, it has an important role in bringing technology to those that cannot afford it.
