Speculating this wish, MSI is reaching for the top with another interesting gadget presented at CeBIT 2009, the AE 1900 all-in-one PC. Guess what platform this baby is based on. Yup, the incredible, multifunctional, overused 1.6GHz Intel Atom. With 1GB DDR2 memory, 160GB HDD and an Intel 945GC +ICH7 Chipset, this elegant all-in-one touchscreen PC definitely has power to match its beauty, although it's pretty hard not to match its competitors seeing how everyone that's everyone is using Intel Atom like it's the new 3dFX for microprocessors.
Anyway, its crystal-like frame and MSI exclusive UI would be nothing if not for its low power consumption and extreme noise reduction. If we're on the “sound” subject, let me mention the built-in Hi-Fi speakers and SRS Premium Sound.
Although Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition compatible, you can't but notice the soft finishes and curves of both the device and the UI that kind of remind you of the almost final Windows 7.
The current version of MSI's Wind Top AE1900 definitely has a few quirks and bugs to get out of its system before official launch, since we have noticed it to be less responsive for a device that's meant for interaction with the user. I can think of a million uses
for this gadget and I bet so can you.
All that's left for now is hope MSI improves its implementation of touch applications and releases this Crystal-like 18.5'' 16:9 1366 x 768 WXGA widescreen, 1.3M webcam beauty onto the world. Who can resist?
