So, CeBIT 2010 has started and one of my colleagues is there to get his hands on new technology and all that jazz. One of the many things he found interesting and barely launched is the Asus Bamboo Collection U43JC notebook, namely the one you can see to your left. You should already be
familiar with the bamboo use in the design of various devices, but I also bet that some of you people were barely waiting for the notebook version with that sweet finishing.
Speaking of hands on technology, the notebook feels pleasant to touch, and is pleasing to lift as well, as it is very lightweight. Even with such a raw material for the finishing, the notebook is more than elegant, but without getting into the stylish business.
If I were to name this any other way than elegant, I would definitely go for classy, since yours truly would see this accompanying the business type, rather than the cool teenager. I can't but enjoy the fact that even today, I see a notebook that doesn't have the cool factor, but is kept minimal, elegant and efficient.
As I have mentioned efficiency, I guess I should detail the technical specifications, so here goes. First things first, the U43JC runs on a choice of Intel Core i3, i5 or i7 processors, installed on the HM55 Mobile Intel chipset.
The random access memory is stackable up to 4GB of DDR3 1066MHz, while the storage can be chosen between 5,400RPM at up to 640GB or 7,200RPM at up to 500GB.
With a 14" HD LED backlit display, sporting a 1,366 x 768 pixel resolution, the notebook delivers images and video content through its Nvidia GeForce 310M with 1GB VRAM and Intel GMA HD. Packing Asus Super Hybrid Engine Technology, the notebook saves both energy and carbon footprint, and with a DVD Super-Multi optical drive, it still weighs a mere 2.06Kg included with a six-cell battery.
