What is small and little at the same time and rhymes with LG? Yeah, right, if it wasn't for the title, you would have never guessed my incredibly hard to solve riddle. Well, moving on, our colleagues came across the Pico Projector from LG at CeBIT and have sent me the specs list for this gadget, which is written in German, so if you see something here that is out of the ordinary, it might be because I understand Deutsch as much as I understand women. And I'm a man.

Because I have an IQ higher than 200, I can deduct from the word “model” that the Pico Projector pictured is actually the LG HX 300 model. I wish I could explain to you how I know all these things but I can't put it in simple words. What I can tell you, however, is that this projector from LG weighs only 1 kg and although it is very small, the video connectivity it can handle is quite impressive.

This way, it gains some more points on versatility, as it is lightweight and allows a multitude of devices to be connected. For example, besides the USB and HDMI ports, the LG HX300 “model” has even connectors for 15 PIN D-Sub, component and even a 3.5 mm jack. Did I mention that it is a DLP LED projector as well? If not, I am mentioning it now and I can also tell you that it can render images in both 4:3 and 16:9 formats, according to users’ needs.

I honestly like the way it looks, and the brushed metal finish it has on the top side, but you might like the fact that it is a Dolby certified projector, which means that some extra quality will be added to the audio output via its 2 x 1W speakers. You can connect other audio systems, don't worry, and you will be able to get even more quality audio via this Pico Projector from LG. Its LED will last about 30,000 hours and the 1,024 x 768 little projector offers a contrast ratio of 2,000:1.

Nice, any news on release date and estimated price? One shop in UK quote £769 and estimated release date 31/3/10. That's way too expensive than the HS200.
